Summary

Closed stratocumulus deck over the ENA main site with broken regional coverage

Description
-----------

This was a closed cell stratocumulus event with extended cloud coverage observed over the ENA main site throughout the event. The cloud deck remained continuous over the ENA site, with radar evidence of drizzle pockets having subcloud precipitation. Cloud echo top heights were observed at approximately 1.5 km AGL for this day. Winds for the event were light and out of variable directions (northerly shifting southerly). The cloud field over the larger Azores region was less continuous throughout, though cloud fractional coverage increased over the later event hours. High clouds were observed on SEVIRI and advected through the domain throughout this event.
