SAM Statistic Output Files
==========================

The SAM model outputs variables in distinct categories, specifically 2-D, 3-D, 3-D microphysics, and statistics. The statistics output files are in netCDF format and contain domain-wide horizontal averages for column-based and column-integrated variables. The statistics files are output every 2 minutes, with most of the variables representing a time average over the output interval.

The ``samstat`` files are small due to their summary nature, approximately 95 MB. Thus all times are combined into one file for the entire simulation.
