Case: 20 October 2015
Summary
Extensive stratocumulus deck under easterly boundary layer flows
Description
Extended early morning and daytime closed stratocumulus under easterly low-level flow. There were minor, episodic breaks in this cloud field to the north of the ENA main site. A more significant erosion of this cloud deck was observed over the western portion of the larger Azores region that continues into the waning parts of the event (potentially associated with an approaching wave). Inversion height at approximately 1.1 km AGL.
