Case: 28 October 2018
Summary
A multi-day open cell to widespread stratocumulus event under northeasterly flow
Description
This was a multi-day (October 27th - 28th) event that featured open cell cumulus conditions on October 27th that gradually transitioned to closed cell cloud conditions by early morning hours on October 28th. There were light boundary layer winds throughout this event that were out of the northeast. The open cell periods during the early and overnight hours of October 27th exhibited signatures of heavier precipitation, whereas the eventual closed cell conditions on October 28th also exhibited several intervals of suggested subcloud precipitation. Inversion height at approximately 1.9 km AGL, and this lowered to approximately 1.3 km by October 28th.
