Case: 22 June 2022
Summary
Widespread precipitating stratocumulus deck with embedded cellular features
Description
This event began as a contiguous precipitating cloud deck that eventually transitioned to more frequent embedded or open cellular-type precipitation (with well-connected cloud). There were moderate (20 kt) boundary layer winds from the northeast. The most frequent and heaviest precipitation occurred during the first half of this event when the cloud field appeared as more stratocumulus, and gave way to intervals later in this event with a more open cellular type precipitation structure. Inversion height at approximately 1.1 km AGL.
